"Turkmendenizderyayollary" expands cooperation with the Classification Society of France BV


An online meeting was held between representatives of the "Turkmendenizderyayollary" agency and the Classification Society of the French Republic Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore sas (BV), in which the parties discussed issues of further expansion and development of cooperation.
BV performs inspection services for vessels registered in Turkmenistan in accordance with international requirements, in accordance with the agreement concluded with the "Turkmendenizderyayollary" agency in 2020.
The Classification Society of France BV is a member of the Association of the International Classification Society (IACS), whose activities are aimed at developing standards and rules for ensuring the safety of maritime transport. The Association unites 11 of the largest classification societies.
BV specializes in the prevention of marine pollution, as well as the implementation of technical supervision of the construction of ships, the provision of international certification services.
BV is currently working on issuing certificates to floating vehicles registered in Turkmenistan in accordance with international standards. In the Turkmen part of the Caspian Sea, State control is carried out over compliance with the rules of maritime navigation on inland waterways and the requirements of international treaties to which Turkmenistan has acceded. Vessels sailing under the Turkmen flag undergo customs inspection in accordance with the requirements of the Code of Turkmenistan on Merchant Shipping.
It should be noted that representatives of the Administration of State Supervision of Shipping in Turkmenistan under the "Turkmendenizderyayollary" Agency took part in a training to improve qualifications in the field of inspection of vessels in operation. The training took place at the BV branch in Aktau, the Republic of Kazakhstan.
A classification society is an independent enterprise that classifies and controls the vessels of those countries whose flag administrations have recognized it. These organizations develop technical standards in the field of design, construction and supervision of marine facilities. A vessel designed and built in accordance with the rules of a particular classification society may apply to such a society and receive a Certificate of Classification from it.
