The device developed by Azerbaijani Jeyhun Khalilov helped save the lives of 14 people during search and rescue operations in the Turkish city of Kahramanmarash, Anadolu agency reports.

The device, equipped with two cameras and a voice recorder, helps to "scan" and determine the location of victims, and then get in touch with them. For close distances, the device uses an endoscopic camera, and for more distant points - a "gigra camera".

If a person finds himself under the rubble, Jeyhun informs employees of the Department for Emergency Prevention and Response (AFAD) or other rescuers.

The first person to detect the device was a 17-year-old girl on February 9.

In an interview with reporters, Jeyhoon admitted that as soon as he heard about the earthquakes in the neighboring country, he asked to be included in the rescue team heading to the disaster zone. On the first available flight, the Azerbaijani arrived in Ankara, and on February 8, he was already in Kahramanmarash.

"I do everything that depends on me. I will stay in the disaster zone as long as necessary, " he assured.
