Turkmen boxer to fight in Russian promotion


Turkmen boxer Ikhtiyar Masharipov will fight against Russian fighter Sergey Makedon. ORIENT was informed about this by the Boxing Federation of Turkmenistan.
The status fight will be held in the light heavyweight division at the Pravda boxing international tournament in Moscow (Russia) on February 17. On the eve of February 16, at 12:00, Ashgabat time, a press conference and weigh-in of the fighters will be held.
As the Turkmen Boxing Federation told ORIENT, Ikhtiyar Masharipov went to the tournament on a special invitation sent by the tournament organizers, as well as in order to promote this sport.
Ikhtiyar Masharipov is a native of Dashoguz region. The 27-year-old boxer is a student at the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports.
The last sporting achievement of the candidate for Master of Sports was the bronze medal of the 2022 Boxing Cup of Turkmenistan.
Pravda Fighting Championship is a Russian promotion launched in 2021. As part of the tournament, both boxing matches and mixed martial arts fights are held.
