Turkmen tennis players have made their way to the play-off stage of the World Junior Under—14 Tennis Championship among Asia and Oceania region - World Junior Tennis Competition 2023.

The youth national team of Turkmenistan under 14 turned out to be stronger than the team from Saudi Arabia. Imran Akhundov beat Khaider Mohammad Al Fraid 7-5 6-3. Another Turkmen tennis player Selim Chagylov defeated Abdulrazak Al Henabi 6-4 6-0. In the pair, the Turkmen tandem prevailed with a score of 6:2 6:1.

The Turkmen tennis players took the first place in their group D, which allowed them to reach the play-off stage, where they will face the Nepalese national team.

The women's national team of Turkmenistan met with the team of Kyrgyzstan, beating it with a total score of 2:1. Ilima Guseynova with a score of 6:7 6:3 7:6 defeated Kamila Aripova. Natalia Martynova lost to Eva Gavshina with a score of 3:6 5:7, however, in the decisive doubles match, the Turkmen duo won a strong-willed victory with a score of 6:1 6:3.

The Turkmen tennis players took second place in Group B, but also made it to the playoff stage. The competitors of athletes from Turkmenistan will be the Malaysian national team.

The World Championship for Juniors under 14 among the Asia and Oceania region brought together tennis representatives from 15 countries — Turkmenistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Nepal, Cambodia, Mongolia, Yemen, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Macau, Saudi Arabia and the united team of the Pacific Ocean.
