A campaign under the motto "Turkey united heart" is being held live on the leading television and radio channels of Turkey and a number of neighboring countries, Anadolu agency reports.

213 television and 562 radio channels from various countries of the world supported the charity event to help victims of the earthquake that affected 11 provinces of Turkey.

As of 03:10 Turkish time, the amount of donations collected during the campaign reached 115.1 billion liras (6 billion 106 million US dollars).

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan contacted the live broadcast studio by phone. Expressing condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the devastating earthquake, the Head of state noted that every lira collected during the campaign will be used for the needs of earthquake victims.

Politicians, businessmen and artists from all over Turkey, as well as prominent representatives of both the Turkish and the world sports community, go live in support of the Turkish people.

Among them are UN Secretary—General Antonio Guterres, Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Shentop and others.
