New ambassadors of Sweden, Cuba and Mongolia arrived in Ashgabat


Meetings with the new ambassadors of Sweden, Cuba and Mongolia were held on February 14, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The diplomats were received by Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Khadzhiev, who was presented with copies of his credentials by the ambassadors.
These are Swedish Ambassador to Turkmenistan (with residence in Stockholm) Thomas Danestad, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba (with residence in Baku) Carlos Enrique Valdez de la Concepciona and Mongolian Ambassador Dorji Bayarkhuu (with residence in Astana).

During the meetings, priority areas of bilateral cooperation and issues of interaction within the framework of international and regional organizations were considered, the importance of expanding the inter-parliamentary dialogue was noted. The need to intensify trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties in new formats was emphasized.
The Turkmen side expressed its readiness to provide all possible assistance and support to the activities of the new ambassadors in strengthening international cooperation.

In addition to the general agenda, some issues were discussed in more detail during the meetings. For example, Ashgabat and Havana expressed mutual interest in developing relations in the fields of culture and sports and in the area of healthcare. And Ulan Bator is ready to expand ties in trade, energy, agro-industrial complex, textile industry and in the field of transport corridors, connection to the regional network of railways and roads.
