Turkmen wrestlers win 11 medals at tournament in Baku


Turkmen freestyle athletes won 11 medals at the open international wrestling tournament in memory of A. Azizov, held from 11 to 12 February in Baku.
The tournament was organized by the United World Wrestling together with the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation.
Representatives of the freestyle wrestling of Turkmenistan under the leadership of Yusup Meretdzhaev won three gold, two silver and six bronze medals.
The awards of the highest standard were awarded to Nuryagdy Bayramdurdyev in the weight category up to 61 kg, Dzhumadurdy Dzhumaev in the weight up to 74 kg, Azimberdy Saparov (up to 79 kg).

Azimberdy Ashirguliyev in the weight category up to 45 kg, Jalaleddin Seyidov in the weight category up to 61 kg became the owners of silver medals.
Six bronze awards were won by Azatberdy Ashirguliyev in the weight category up to 51 kg, Amir Khamayun and Ismail Mukhammedova (both in the weight up to 57 kg), Alp Arslan Begenchev (up to 71 kg), Davut Khallyev (up to 74 kg), Parahat Atayev (up to 79 kg).
At the moment, Turkmen Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestlers, in preparation for the upcoming international tournaments, are holding training camps in Baku, which will continue until February 28.
