CNPC to build Tajik segment of Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline
A subsidiary company of CNPC (Chinese National Oil and Gas Corporation) will construct the Tajik section of the fourth line of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline. The project is expected to be completed within the next two years, reported Tajik media referring to minister of energy and water resources of Tajikistan Usmonali Usmonzoda. According to him, the equipment and machinery have been supplied to Tajikistan for the construction of more than 40 tunnels along the route of the segment in the conditions of mountain relief. “Trans-Tajik Gas Pipeline Company Ltd”, joint venture between CNPC and JSC “Tajiktransgaz”, will build and operate 400-km lengthy pipeline. Under the project, China will pour over $ 3 billion of direct investments into the economy of Tajikistan. The designed capacity of the fourth line of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline will be 25-30 billion cubic meters.
