Turkmenistan sent humanitarian aid to earthquake-stricken Turkey (updated)


Turkmenistan has sent humanitarian aid to Turkey in connection with the devastating earthquakes that occurred in the republic on February 6.
Turkish Ambassador to Turkmenistan Togan Oral posted a video on Twitter with the dispatch of a humanitarian aid plane.
The diplomat wrote that the plane was sent from Turkmenistan in the morning. There are funds on board to help victims of the earthquake.
Earlier, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed deep condolences to the leadership of Turkey and Syria in connection with the earthquakes, which caused numerous human casualties and large-scale destruction.
According to the Anadolu news agency, the number of victims of two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 with an epicenter in the Turkish province of Kahramanmarash reached 3,381. More than 20.4 thousand people were affected by the disaster.
