The Turkish Embassy in Turkmenistan lowered the flag in connection with the national mourning announced by the head of the republic for those killed in the devastating earthquake.
Mourning will last for seven days. Flags in Turkey and the country's diplomatic missions abroad will be lowered at half-mast until sunset on February 12, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
Holidays have been announced in all schools in Turkey until February 13, the country's education minister Mahmut Ozer said. The dates of some university entrance exams have also been postponed.
