Azerbaijan and Romania sign new gas contract

The Romanian state company Romgaz S. A. and the Azerbaijani oil and gas company Socar have signed a new contract for the supply of natural gas from Azerbaijan to Romania. This was reported by the press service of SOCAR.
Azerbaijan has already delivered the first shipments of natural gas to Romania in January. The new contract will be valid from April 2023 and will improve the supply mechanisms.
The states will continue to work on several energy projects, among which the Southern Gas Corridor connecting Asian and European countries occupies a special place.
In the future, it is expected that Azerbaijan will buy gas for supplies to Europe from other countries, including Turkmenistan. It is Turkmenistan, according to many experts, that has sufficient potential to significantly increase the supply of blue fuel and ensure the energy security of Europe.
