UN and Turkmenistan consider cooperation in preventing violent extremism


The UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia organized a briefing on possible assistance to Turkmenistan in implementing strategies to prevent violent extremism and counter terrorism. This is reported by the official website of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan.
In particular, representatives of the relevant state bodies of the country, together with international experts, reviewed the National Strategy for the Prevention of Violent Extremism and Countering Terrorism for 2020-2024. The strategy reflects such topical areas as migration, border control, the Internet, socio-economic and political aspects, as well as human rights and the rule of law.
The participants also got acquainted with the best practices in the field of state border protection, the activities of various international organizations in this area.
