Moscow is accepting works for the competition of young photojournalists of the world


The Organizing Committee of the 9th International Competition for Young Photojournalists of the World in Memory of Andrey Stenin is accepting works in 2023 until February 28, 2023 inclusive.
Photo professionals aged 18 to 33 can submit their work on the competition website in Russian, in English and in Chinese.
The competition includes four nominations - "Top News", "Sport", "My Planet", "Portrait. A Hero of Our Time”, and two categories – “Single Works” and “Series”. In each of the nominations, you can submit one single work and one series.

The prize fund of the competition in 2023 will be 125, 100 and 75 thousand rubles for the first, second and third places in each category. The winner of the highest award of the Stenin Competition - the Grand Prix - will receive 700 thousand rubles.
Recently, the international jury of the competition for young photojournalists was announced. The judging team of the ninth competition year included experts from the world's largest media and award-winning photographers.
The international part of the jury is represented by Lan Hongguang, deputy director of the photo department of the Xinhua State News Agency of the People's Republic of China, Mehdi Bolurian, staff photographer of the official news agency of the Islamic Republic of Iran, IRNA, Sefa Karacan, senior photojournalist of the largest Turkish news agency Anadolu, and Juan Cañete, a freelance photographer from Argentina. Russia is represented in the jury of the Stenin Competition by Pavel Volkov, photojournalist of the Izvestiya Information Center, lecturer at the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov.

The new year's competition also preserves the tradition of exhibition tours of its winners in Russian and foreign cities. The road show gives young photojournalists an opportunity to demonstrate their work to audiences around the world, draw attention to the most pressing problems and challenges of our time. The geography of the exhibitions of the competition since its launch in 2014 has already united over forty cities in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East.
The competition, organized by the Rossiya Segodnya media group under the auspices of the Russian Commission for UNESCO, aims to support young photographers and draw public attention to the challenges of modern photojournalism. This is a platform for young photographers - talented, sensitive and open to everything new, where they draw our attention to people and events around us.
