The Victory Museum will present an exhibition about the Battle of Stalingrad in the CIS countries
The exhibition of the Victory Museum "Ice Loop of Stalingrad" will open in Russian houses in seven CIS countries to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory of the USSR in the Battle of Stalingrad. The first exhibition was presented on January 23 at the Russian House in Tashkent, the press service of the Victory Museum reports.
Residents of other CIS countries will also be able to see the anniversary exhibition, and an online version of the project will be launched in some countries. The collection of the exhibition includes exhibits from the funds of the Victory Museum, as well as unique objects of the war years from the museums of the CIS countries.
In total, about 200 digitized documents, posters, photographs, paintings and front-line sketches are presented. The materials tell not only about the course of the Battle of Stalingrad, but also about the participants of the battle from the Allied states, the press service added.
Visitors of the exhibition will see photographs of war correspondents Valentin Orlyankin, Georgy Zelma, Yakov Ryumkin and others. The pictures were taken in the city and on the defensive lines on the outskirts of Stalingrad, during the encirclement of the enemy group.
The exhibition collection also includes posters by Peter and Nikolai Maltsev, artists of the Alajalov brothers, drawings by front-line artists Peter Baranov, Mikhail Shcheglov, Konstantin Finogenov and others.
