“RosGeo” offers technological assistance to Turkmenistan in field development
“There are more than 200 deposits of various solid minerals on the territory of Turkmenistan, and in order to develop the economy of the country, we are ready to offer our colleagues in Turkmenistan a wide range of holding competencies to develop this resource potential,” said Sergey Gorkov, head of the Russian holding company “Rosgeology” (RosGeo), during his speech at the Turkmen-Russian business forum in Ashgabat on January 19-20.
Within the framework of the business forum, the “RosGeo” delegation held talks with the heads of the state corporation “Turkmengeology”, the state concerns “Turkmennebit” and “Turkmengas”, as well as with representatives of the Construction Ministry of Turkmenistan. Russian specialists offer technological assistance in the exploration and development of Turkmen deposits of minerals and hydrocarbons.
These works will be carried out within the framework of the Agreement on cooperation in the field of exploration of hydrocarbons and solid minerals between JSC “RosGeo” and the State Corporation “Turkmengeology”. The parties agreed to sign a document in the near future that includes a solid portfolio of proposals from “Rosgeology”.
The Russian experts propose to participate in projects to conduct 3D seismic exploration on free blocks of the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea in the format of multiclient survey, search and justification of geological sites suitable for the construction of underground gas storage facilities, localization of oil fields in the north-west of the Amudarya oil and gas basin in non-anticlinal traps based on integrated seismic and electrical 3D exploration, and also about other joint research and development in this area.
“RosGeo” is the largest geological holding company in the Russian Federation with a developed production and technical potential. The company performs all types of exploration work, regional studies of all types of mineral resources as well as the assessment of reserves and commissioning of deposits. The company has a unique competence in the field of marine geological and offshore operations.
