Companies of Turkmenistan and Russia signed contracts worth over $2 billion


Turkmen and Russian companies signed contracts worth 150 billion Russian rubles ($ 2.17 billion at the exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation as of January 20) within the framework of the Turkmen-Russian business forum held in Ashgabat, TASS reports with reference to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
"Following the results of the two—day work at the forum, Russian and Turkmen companies signed more than fifty bilateral agreements totaling 150 billion rubles," Deputy Mayor Dmitry Volvach said.
The official noted that Turkmenistan is a reliable partner for Russia in the field of industrial cooperation and entrepreneurs of the two countries are ready to develop new projects.
He also added that more than 20 investment projects with Russian participation worth $3.5 billion are currently being implemented in Turkmenistan. New projects are being prepared for launch in the field of transport, construction, automotive and shipbuilding, pharmaceuticals, geological exploration, and the oil and gas industry.
