Kamaz electric buses will be tested in Turkmenistan


Kamaz has delivered two electric buses of its own production to Turkmenistan for testing. Sergey Kogogin, General Director of Kamaz, told reporters at the Turkmen-Russian Business Forum, which opened in Ashgabat on Thursday.
He noted that Kamaz is the leader in Russia in the production of electric buses. "We are pleased to offer this technique to Turkmenistan, to present an opportunity to evaluate all its advantages. Two Kamaz electric buses and an ultrafast charging station have been delivered to conduct test tests of equipment in the conditions of the climate of Turkmenistan," Kogogin said. He also added that Kamaz is ready to supply electric buses in the volumes necessary for Turkmenistan."
According to the data announced by the Turkmen side at the business forum, from 2006 to 2021, Turkmenistan purchased more than 9 thousand 460 units of Kamaz vehicles and special equipment. Most of them were acquired by the public sector - 8,929.
Service centers for repair and maintenance of Kamaz vehicles with training of technical personnel have been built in the cities of Turkmenbashi, Mary and Turkmenabat. Work is underway on the construction of a similar center in the Dashoguz region.
