Against the background of severe frosts, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to prohibit utilities from turning off electricity and gas due to debts, Central Asian publications report.

The decision is motivated by record low temperatures in all regions of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the Head of the republic stated the importance of providing the population of remote regions with liquefied gas and coal. Thermal power plants, which generate 90% of all electricity consumed, produce it, including from Turkmen gas.
