The channel of the Ashgabat Hydropark, which crosses the southern part of the city, is almost completely covered with a small layer of ice against the background of record low temperatures across the country.

Previously, the largest water artery of the capital was frozen only in places, but now the "ice blanket" completely covered the channel. The stability of the ice cover is evidenced by fragments of ice and lumps of snow lying on the surface.
