A new group of social work specialists in Turkmenistan has completed the second course of study


A new group of social work specialists in Turkmenistan has passed the second stage of a series of basic trainings. The sessions organized by UNICEF together with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan are devoted to topical issues of social work.
Training of specialists in social work is an important component of the joint program of the United Nations and the Government of Turkmenistan to improve the social protection system in the country through the introduction of social services at the community level.
Social workers got acquainted with the peculiarities of the formation of professional relations with the user of services, communication with different target groups of the population. They also learned about the skills of collecting information and conducting interviews, including with families, the elderly, and tools for assessing their needs. Social work specialists gained knowledge about the subtleties of counseling and motivation of target groups.
The first stage of training was held in December last year. As part of it, the participants got acquainted with the basic concept of social work and social services.
