Uzbekistan recommends refraining from traveling to Kazakhstan by car due to frost

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Alma-Ata warned fellow citizens against traveling to Kazakhstan by car in the next three days due to severe frosts. This was reported by the Dunya news agency of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.
“Due to the sharp deterioration of weather conditions throughout the country, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Almaty recommends fellow citizens refraining from traveling to Kazakhstan by means of vehicles and buses for the next three days,” the Dunya website says in a statement.
According to the agency, severe frosts will continue in the next three days in most of Kazakhstan, including in the southern regions. Heavy snowfall is expected in the mountainous regions. In the east, weather forecasters predict a drop in temperature to minus 43 degrees.
The agency notes that due to worsening weather conditions (blizzard, poor visibility, ice), on January 10, 122 sections of roads were closed in Kazakhstan.
