Constantine II, the last king of Greece, died on Tuesday at the age of 82. The health condition of the former king, who suffered from chronic heart and mobility problems, worsened, and in recent months he has been hospitalized several times, reports ERT news.

Constantine II was the only son of King Paul of Greece and Queen Frederica and ascended the throne in 1964 after the death of his father. He ruled Greece for 9 years.

During the reign of Constantine II, there was political instability in Greece, which led to the abolition of the monarchy and the establishment of a republican form of government in the country.
