Kazakhstan intends to deliver to Germany the first 20 thousand tons of oil in January through Russia, TASS reports with reference to the words of the Minister of energy of the Republic Bolat Akchulakov.

The official said that the first batch will amount to 20 thousand tons, and annual deliveries may amount to 1.5 million tons. At the same time, he added that Kazakhstan can supply Germany with a maximum of about 6-7 million tons of oil per year, and Germany's needs are higher than these volumes.

Akchulakov also said that Kazakhstan was waiting for official confirmation from Russia about the possibility of oil transit and received oral confirmation. Earlier, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection of Germany reported that it expects the start of oil supplies from Kazakhstan to the refinery in Schwedt via the Druzhba oil pipeline.
