The new UAE visa regime attracts specialists for a longer period

The UAE has introduced many new long-term residence permits, including the "Golden Visa", "Green Visa", "Pension Visa" and "Freelancer Visa" for investors, property buyers, students and professionals to attract the best talent from around the world.
The UAE has long been considered a transit place where specialists spend a year or two, and then migrate to other countries. However, the introduction of long-term visas will increase the attractiveness of the country among skilled and professional workers from the Persian Gulf, Asia and Africa, according to personnel managers of large companies in the UAE.
The period of residence in the UAE has increased to more than five years and will continue to grow as the country has strengthened its position to one of the safest during the pandemic.
Since the launch of the "Golden Visa" in 2019, there has been an influx of wealthy people who move to the UAE and stay in this country, often called a "magnet for millionaires". Real estate investments allow wealthy people to get a "Golden Visa". Consequently, the value of real estate is growing, reaching a record level by the end of 2022.
In the period from 2019 to mid-November 2022, the General Directorate for Residents and Foreigners of Dubai issued 151,666 "golden visas" to investors and specialists, which indicates a steady increase in interest and a successful residence permit for long-term residents.
Also, with the growing popularity of the hybrid work option, people are becoming more mobile geographically. And the UAE is taking steps to ease the visa situation for those who are looking for a lifestyle in Dubai without having to look for a job there. These may be people who work on orders from different countries or international projects, but live in the UAE.
