Turkmenistan's exports to China in January-October 2022 increased by more than 78% compared to the same period in 2021, approaching 7 billion US dollars (according to statistics - 6,969.6 million), which makes China the largest market for the promotion of Turkmen products.

At the same time, in the first 10 months of last year, Turkmenistan also increased imports from China by 66.6% ($612.5 million).

It should be noted that in 2021 China occupied the first place in terms of Turkmenistan's exports with an amount of more than $ 4.9 billion, and in 2020 this figure slightly exceeded $ 4 billion. In terms of imports, China took 4th place in 2021 (455.9 million dollars).

It is expected that during the visit of the President of Turkmenistan to China, which began on Thursday, new agreements on trade, economic and energy cooperation will be reached.

It is noteworthy that the Turkmen-Chinese talks scheduled for January 6 in Beijing coincided with the date of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries on this day 31 years ago.

Turkmenistan is a key supplier of natural gas to China, at the same time, during the meeting of the two heads of state on the sidelines of the SCO summit in September 2022, the need to expand cooperation in non-resource areas was emphasized.
