For the first time, Turkmen students will take part in the Spelling Bee international competition for the accurate oral reproduction of English words by letters of the Central Asian tour, which will be held in Tashkent, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports.

Earlier, a national round of the contest was organized in Ashgabat with the support of the US Embassy in Turkmenistan. Its winners will go to the regional tournament.

The country will be represented by students of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly Perman Kyyasov and Aylar Annageldieva, as well as Samir Babajanov from the State Medical University named after Myrat Garryev, and Ogulgerek Pashikova from the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages.

The main condition of the competition is the exact oral reproduction of English words by letters, which causes difficulty even for native speakers of English, which is characterized by complex spelling.
