Abnormally cold weather will come to Turkmenistan


From January 9, abnormally cold weather is expected in the northern regions and from January 10 in the southern regions of Turkmenistan, the Meteojournal newspaper reports.
According to forecasts, in some regions of the country the temperature will be 10-16 degrees below the climatic norm. The cold will persist until the middle of the second decade of January.
Snow is expected in Ashgabat next week. On Wednesday, January 11, the temperature may drop to -2 degrees during the day and -7 degrees at night.
In Balkanabat, the minimum temperature can reach -1 degrees during the day and -7 degrees at night, in Dashoguz -8 degrees during the day and -18 degrees at night, in Mary -2 degrees during the day and -11 degrees at night, and in Turkmenabat -5 degrees during the day and -13 degrees at night.
Abnormally cold weather is considered when the temperature is 7 degrees or more below normal for 5 consecutive days.
