Turkmen schoolchildren became prize-winners of the international Olympiad in English


Twelve Turkmen schoolchildren of grades 9-11 of the Ashgabat specialized secondary boarding school named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashi became prize-winners of the first round of the annual international Internet Olympiad in English Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports.
The competition, which was attended by 70,000 schoolchildren from 68 countries, was attended by 14 representatives of Turkmenistan, most of whom won the main award – the Grand Prix, and also received the right to participate in the next round. Tenth grader Abdyrahman Akiniyazov was awarded the gold medal.
The Olympiad, held in an online format, was organized in the Indian city of Gurgaon, and the main purpose of the event was to test the language competencies of schoolchildren with an emphasis on their deep knowledge in the field of grammar. In total, the event included 50 tasks on Reading, Writing, Speaking, Grammar skills.
