Ashgabat expert meeting on Afghanistan

Afghanistan, the country called the "Heart of Asia," was once again at the center of the international meeting in the light of the upcoming Seventh Regional Economic Cooperation Conference (RECCA VII) scheduled for November. On Friday, 13 October, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a forum with the participation of deputy Afghan foreign minister Adela Raz, deputy foreign minister of Turkmenistan V.Hajiyev, head of OSCE Center Natalya Drozd, as well as representatives of government agencies, experts from Asian research institutes, economists - in general, all partners interested in the economic revival of Afghanistan and ready for regional cooperation to achieve this goal. The event was organized jointly with the Center for Strategic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan and the OSCE Center in Ashgabat. The speakers highlighted the intensification of cooperation in the energy sector, stirring up of trade relations and the facilitation of transit, the country's involvement into integration processes as the essential toolkit towards brining stability in Afghanistan. The outcomes of the forum are planned to be included in the discussion agenda of the RECCA VII working group meetings.
