The first cookbook with climate-neutral recipes has been published
A new book with climate-neutral cooking recipes "For People and Planet" has been published. The publication was prepared by famous chefs Manal Al-Alem and Jose Andres together with chefs and farmers from all over the world.
Being dedicated to food systems, sustainable consumption and production, climate change and food waste, the book shows how important our food choices are, and how they can affect our environment.
The publication contains 75 recipes along with cooking instructions, as well as stories about how food consumption affects the environment. The recipes take into account WHO recommendations on macronutrients, which makes them useful not only for the planet, but also for people.
According to FAO, food systems contribute to and suffer from extreme weather events related to climate change, land degradation and loss of biodiversity. Initiatives like this cookbook are aimed at supporting the response.
