Turkey has discussed the gas hub project with 15 different countries, in general, the attitude is positive. This, with reference to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the country Fatih Donmez, the Anadolu agency reports.

According to Donmez, in general, over the past year, Turkish delegations have discussed energy cooperation with 15 different countries. "Our goal is to open access to new sources. Among others, the topic of the hub in Turkey was condemned. Many countries reacted positively to the issue," Anadolu quotes the minister as saying.

On Monday, Fatih Donmez told TVNET that Turkey and Russia have signed long-term contracts for the supply of natural gas, taking into account the volatility of world prices. "We have signed very long-term contracts with Russia, but I cannot disclose details because these are commercial issues. But, of course, there are provisions in these contracts that cover price increases on world markets. Not only our agreements, but also all contracts with gas exporters provide for this," he said.

According to Donmez, Ankara would be forced to look for other natural gas suppliers if it joined the anti-Russian sanctions. "As you know, Russia has published a list of unfriendly countries after the introduction of sanctions against it. If we joined these sanctions, we would also be blacklisted, and we would be looking for alternative gas imports," he said.

The Presidents of the Russian Federation and Turkey, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, earlier instructed to work out in detail the issue of creating a gas hub in Turkey. Through this hub, in particular, it is possible to move gas supplies from the damaged "Northern Streams". At the same time, we are talking not only about creating a trading platform in Turkey, but also about developing infrastructure and increasing supplies in the southern direction.

Earlier, Erdogan said that Turkey has the ability to supply Russian and Turkmen gas to Europe.
