President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the increasing importance of Central Asia on a regional and global scale at a meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions in Astana, Anadolu agency reports.
"Currently, the Central Asian countries have begun to actively interact with many countries and regional associations, including the USA, Japan, South Korea, China, India, Russia, the EU," the head of Kazakhstan said, noting that this opens up new opportunities for expanding cooperation with partners in the "C5+1" format.
Tokayev also focused on ensuring energy and food security, in which the Trans-Caspian Corridor plays an important role.
