Turkmenistan has increased electricity exports to Kyrgyzstan by more than 6 times

Turkmenistan became the main supplier of electricity to the Kyrgyz Republic in 2022. The cost volume of supplies since the beginning of this year is estimated at $56.7 million, according to the report on foreign and mutual trade of Kyrgyzstan.
In January-October, Kyrgyzstan imported 2.66 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, of which imports from Turkmenistan account for 2.25 billion kilowatt-hours.
Compared to the same period in 2021, the export of Turkmen electricity to Kyrgyzstan increased 6.6 times. In 2021, 305.8 million kilowatt-hours of Turkmen electricity were supplied to the republic. The cost volume of deliveries increased by 9.7 times.
