Foreigners with a Belarusian visa will be able to freely enter the territory of Russia and stay there during the validity period of the document. This was announced by the head of the Department of Citizenship and Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus Alexey Begun, TASSreports.

He also clarified that foreign citizens with a Russian visa will also be able to enter the territory of Belarus.

"For countries with a visa regime of entry, one visa will be enough. This is the so-called mini–Schengen, but so far without the unification of visa rules," said the head of the department of the Belarusian MIA.

According to Begun, persons arriving in Belarus and Russia under the visa-free entry regime can enter through the internal border, stay on the territory of both countries for the period stipulated by international treaties and national legislation. At the same time, "foreigners who enter the territory of Belarus within the framework of a visa-free decree (allows citizens of 80 countries to arrive in Belarus without visas through Minsk airport for 30 days) will still have to obtain an appropriate visa to stay in Russia."

The innovation is provided for by the intergovernmental Belarusian-Russian agreement on mutual recognition of visas, which involves the integration of information resources of the two countries.
