President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov summed up the preliminary results of the country's development in 2022 at the pre-New Year meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council on Thursday. The heads of regions and the mayor of Ashgabat were also invited to participate in the meeting.
Among the fundamental points, the president referred to the adoption of the Concept of Turkmenistan's foreign policy for 2022-2028, in line with which steps are being taken to ensure peace and security at the regional and global levels, and a policy of permanent neutrality is being implemented.
Turkmenistan has expanded bilateral and multilateral cooperation on the political and diplomatic track, in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, which was facilitated by the visits of the country's government delegations abroad and the visits of heads of state and government to Turkmenistan. A number of summit talks are also planned for 2023.
Turkmenistan continues to develop contacts with international and regional structures, primarily with the UN, maintains fruitful relations with the European Union, the CIS, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and is preparing to join the World Trade Organization.
The domestic economic policy and the consistent implementation of the Program for the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052 made it possible to achieve high growth rates in the leading industries and maintain a stable GDP dynamics.
In 2022, wages, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships were increased by 10%. In all regions of the country, the construction of industrial and social facilities, comfortable housing continues.
