Turkmenistan launches sea feeder transportation on the Turkmenbashi-Baku line from January 1

Starting from January 1, 2023, CJSC "Marine MerchantFleet" of Turkmenistan will supply the vessel "Balkan" for the implementation of feeder container transportation on the route Turkmenbashi-Baku-Turkmenbashi.
International feeder services allow efficient transportation of general cargo on regular shipping lines in containers. Being an effective tool, an established feeder line makes cargo delivery profitable for both the shipper and the carrier.
The Turkmenbashi International Seaport has all conditions for handling up to 400,000 containers per year. The STS-type mooring cranes installed at the Container Terminal are capable of handling up to 15 containers per hour. Also, for the convenience of container owners, the time of free storage of containers at the Container Terminal has been increased to 60 days.
The feeder system of transportation is used primarily by shipping companies for the concentration and export of general cargo, especially those transported by sea in containers on regular shipping lines.
Its main advantages are optimal cost, the ability to process vessels quickly, which eliminates their downtime in the port while waiting for free berths. This will also help to reduce the delivery time of goods.
Tariffs for transit transportation of containers by sea through Turkmenistan:
-20-foot container – 220 USD,
-40-foot container – 270 USD,
-45-foot container – 320 USD.
