The first floating terminal for receiving liquefied natural gas has arrived in Finland, and now the Inkoo port in the south of the country will become a regasifier. Finland, together with Estonia, leased this complex from a US company for 10 years, Euronews reports.
The ship will receive LNG from tankers, turn it into gas and pump it into pipelines. Part of the gas from the Incoo terminal will be sent to Estonia via the Balticconnector pipeline.
Finland's need for gas imports is much less than that of many European countries, and the capacity of floating gas for these purposes will be enough in excess.
