"Teacher is not a servant" – this hashtag is at the peak of popularity in Uzbekistan and not only

The statement "a teacher is not a servant and teachers should be relieved of unnecessary duties" was made by the daughter of the President of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva, who is the head of the communications and information policy sector of the executive office of the presidential administration of Uzbekistan. This topic has become number one not only in social networks, but in almost all Uzbek media," local news agencies write.
"The teacher today is a servant at Hakim's events, a free employee who collects statistics at home, a gardener, a cleaner, a waiter and a cook. We must build a society in which the value and dignity of the teacher will be on top. Those who load representatives of these professions with something else besides their main task should be brought to administrative and criminal responsibility. For this purpose, an appropriate draft law has been developed, and its adoption is expected in the near future," said Saida Mirziyoyeva.
She made such a statement at the awarding ceremony of the winners of the Republican Intellectual Olympiad. The topic is so acute that teachers, bloggers, artists, athletes, politicians reacted to it, and even outside of Uzbekistan itself.
