A delegation from Turkmenistan took part in the regional forum on youth employment and prevention of violent extremism in Central Asia, which was held in Antalya, Turkey.

The event was organized by the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia in partnership with the UN Counter-Terrorism Office.

For several days, the participants discussed best practices in increasing the involvement of young people in preventing and countering violent extremism. Separately, the issue of solving problems related to the spread of violent extremism by expanding employment opportunities and training young people was considered.

The results of the discussions and relevant recommendations were included in the roadmap of action, which will be applied by representatives of government agencies, the private sector and youth organizations.

The Forum was organized within the framework of the EU-UN initiative "Strengthening Resilience Against Violent Extremism in Asia" (STRIVE Asia) in accordance with the priority areas outlined in the updated Joint Action Plan for the Implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy in Central Asia. It was attended by over 50 representatives of the public and private sector, youth organizations from all five Central Asian countries, academia, civil society, as well as international experts and youth.

Without a doubt, young people play a vital and irreplaceable role in increasing social sustainability, uniting communities and ensuring universal prosperity.
