The new administrative center of Akhal was named the city of Arkadag


The city of Arkadag is the name of the new administrative center of the Akhal region, where an extended government meeting was held on Wednesday. This decision was announced by Chairman of the Mejlis - the Chamber of Deputies of the Turkmen Parliament Gulshat Mammedova.
Presenting the relevant resolution of the Mejlis, its leader specified that the wishes of the residents of the region and all regions of the country, as well as proposals from public organizations were taken into account when adopting the document.

According to the document, based on the Law on the procedure for resolving issues of the administrative-territorial structure of Turkmenistan, the administrative center of the Akhal region is officially transferred to the city of Arkadag. Accordingly, the area of 2,370 hectares of the Geoktepe district of the Akhal region passes into the administrative territory of the city of Arkadag.
In connection with joining the territory of the city of Arkadag, the village of Aba Annaev, built for horse breeders of the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex, is excluded from the list of administrative-territorial units, and the gengeshlik Kyarizek, which previously included this village, is abolished.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, together with the administration of the Akhal region, was ordered to produce a documented description of the administrative boundaries of the city of Arkadag.
