A new industrial inflow of natural gas at the Galkynysh supergiant field was obtained from the 60th well, which has already been commissioned, at a depth of 4580 meters, the Turkmenistan newspaper reports.

On average, the depth of gas wells ranges from 0.5 to 1 km, so the commissioned well can be classified as deep.

The main contractor for drilling operations was the Turkmengaz state concern and the Turkmenyoritegaznebitgurnama trust, which is engaged in particularly complex oil and gas works on the territory of the field.

The development takes place within the framework of the agreement between Turkmengaz and the Chinese National Oil and Gas Corporation CNPC, concluded in August 2021. The 309th well was recently put into operation, active work is underway to obtain gas from the 294th and 30th wells.
