The joint transport corridor "Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Turkey" to become a bridge in the "East-West"direction

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposed the creation of a new transport corridor "Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Turkey" and a single logistics center to coordinate and optimize freight traffic along this new route. Turkmenistan proposes to consider these issues in the development of trilateral relations.
The initiative was voiced during the meeting of the heads of the three states, which took place on December 14 in the Avaza national tourist zone on the coast of the Caspian Sea, the official Turkmen press reports.
Continuing the topic, Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed his conviction that Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey should play a leading role in the process of building a reliable transport bridge in the East-West direction. Joint efforts will allow the parties to reach agreements with other international partners and major investors.
At the same time, at the moment, a transport corridor is already operating through these countries. It is called "Lapis Lazuli" and runs from the border of Turkmenistan with Afghanistan to Turkey through the territory of Azerbaijan and Georgia.
