New Year’s Lights are Lit on the Main New Year Tree of Ashgabat
In Ashgabat, the lights on the country's main New Year tree were lit today. The festive ritual has already become a good tradition for everyone and hundreds of people took part in it. Many came with their families.
The city square in front of the “Alem” cultural and entertainment center, where the tallest and most beautiful New Year tree is traditionally set up, became the venue for the colorful event. The atmosphere of the holiday was created by multicolored illumination, musical and dance numbers, smiles of adults and merriment of children. In the next month, this fabulous location will become a favorite vacation place for citizens and guests of the capital.
This year, the height of the main New Year tree is 43 meters - it's almost like a 12-story skyscraper. The crown is decorated with a star and the numbers 2023.
The culmination of the holiday was a costume show, in which, together with Ayaz Baba and Garpamyk (Father Frost and Snow Maiden), many fairy-tale characters took part. Children's musical and dance ensembles, popular pop singers, theater artists and other creative groups also performed at the concert.
Following the main green beauty, all the country's New Year trees, installed in all regions of the country on the main squares of administrative centers, sparkled with lights.
