The 87th World Weightlifting Championship takes place from 5 to 16 December 2022. It was scheduled to be held in Chongqing, China, but this changed in March 2022 as a result of China's COVID-19 response. Colombia is hosting the World Weightlifting Championships for the first time. The event is a qualifier for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.
