Trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan increased 5 times in January-October
The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan has grown almost 5 times over the past 10 months. This was stated by Chairman of the upper house of the Turkmen parliament Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Sahiba Gafarova, TDH writes today.
The Intergovernmental Commission, which is an effective tool for solving problems of mutual interest, plays a huge role in increasing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Thanks to the activities of the commission, investment cooperation is expanding, business contacts between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan are being established. In this regard, the parties stressed the need for legal support in creating a favorable environment for the implementation of joint investment projects.
Prospects for expanding economic cooperation between the two countries were also discussed during the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov with the head of the Economic Department of Azerbaijan Mikail Jabbarov in Baku.
