Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan: Turkmen electricity is the most profitable for the population of the republic

Kyrgyz Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev said that it is more profitable to import electricity from Turkmenistan than to generate it at the country's thermal power plants, Tazabek reports.kg based on the results of the workshop on defense, security and migration.
"Compared to the electricity generated at the CHPP, it will be cheaper. Naturally, the cheapest electricity is generated at hydroelectric power stations. But we do not have such an opportunity today, " the official said, answering a question from one of the deputies whether electricity from Turkmenistan will be expensive for the population.
Kyrgyzstan's energy sector is switching to greener and cheaper energy imports, gradually abandoning the use of hydrocarbons for electricity generation and increasing its imports from neighboring countries.
Thus, Turkmenistan has become a key state exporter of electricity to the republic.
