President of Turkmenistan congratulated the Head of Romania on the Day of National Unity
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the head of Romania Klaus Werner Iohannis and the entire Romanian people on the National Day of Unity of Romania, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The Turkmen leader wished the President of the country good health, happiness and wellbeing, and the Romanian people- peace, further progress and prosperity.
Romania's National Unity Day has been celebrated annually on December 1 since 1918. It was on this day that representatives of Romanians from Transylvania and the Banat united with the Kingdom of Romania. This event became one of the key events in the formation of modern Romania as an independent state.
Traditionally, a military parade is held in Romania on this day, concerts are held, prominent political figures make inspiring speeches.
In July of this year, the diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Romania turned 30 years old. The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan regularly selects Turkmen applicants for study at Romanian universities, promoting student exchange.
