A new water treatment plant with a capacity of 20 thousand cubic meters of water per day was opened in the Baharden district of the Ahal region of Turkmenistan, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper writes today.

The facility was built by the Mukaddes Toprak individualenterprise and will allow the use of purified wastewater for economic purposes in reservoirs and collectors without harm to the environment.

"The opening of the facility will be important for careful treatment of water resources," Garly Garlyev, chairman of the association of trade unions of the Baharden district, stressed in a comment to the press. "Previously, wastewater was not suitable for reuse, and now it will be useful for solving various economic tasks in the production and fields of local farmers."

"The construction occupied 4.2 hectares and is a complex of engineering and technical and office premises," director ofMukaddes Toprak IE, Muhammet Annamuhammedov, told the press. The processing at the facility is controlled by a computer system and provides for cleaning, disinfection, and preparation for water supply.

Wastewater will flow into the complex from the settlements of Archman, Keletdag, and the resort of Archman.
