Creative and scientific exchanges, interaction in the field of studying and popularizing the common heritage became the subject of a conversation between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture Sultan Raev.

During the meeting held on Monday, the head of state expressed gratitude to the leadership of TURKSOY for declaring 2024 the Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world - Magtymguly Fragi "and transferring the title of the cultural capital of the Turkic world to the Turkmen city of Anau for the same year.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Sultan Raev touched upon the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY, which will be celebrated in 2023, and the holding of major events in honor of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly in 2024.

The President noted the importance of cultural diplomacy in the development of international relations of Turkmenistan and spoke in favor of intensifying cooperation with TURKSOY and expanding cultural dialogue.
