The British Ambassador gave a lecture on climate in educational institutions of the Mary region


As part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, British Ambassador to Turkmenistan Lucia Wild visited Mary region.
The diplomat visited the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan and the Mary Pedagogical School named after Hydyr Deryayev, where she gave a lecture on climate change and environmental protection. At the end of the lecture, a screening of David Attenborough's film "Life on our Planet" was organized.
At Mary Pedagogical School, the guest was introduced to the peculiarities of teaching English to primary school children. The Ambassador highly appreciated the level of proficiency of Turkmen students in English.
Students also presented products of decorative and applied art made with their own hands.
During the visit, the diplomat also held bilateral meetings with the mayor of Mary region, the heads of the Union of Women and the Youth Organization of the region. The Ambassador discussed with them the importance of building bilateral cooperation between the countries in various fields and the success of cooperation over the past 30 years.
Earlier, Lucia Wilde visited the Lebap region, and in the future it is planned to organize visits of the British ambassador to other regions of the country.
